A BRIEF HISTORY

It is necessary to go up in 1956 to recall the origins of Studio Henri and that one intends to speak about his founder, Henri Chabot. Indeed, at that time Studio Henri is located at Saint-Damien-de-Bellechasse where the owner exploits at the same time a studio of photography and a small printing works. Although the customers find themselves mainly in the small cities and neighbouring villages, the reputation of the Studio radiates already to Quebec city.

In 1971, he acquire a property on William-Stuart street in Sainte-Foy with the idea to open a Studio. A floor surface of more than 2000 square feet enables him to arrange a roomy room for the photographic aera, a workshop, an office, etc... The choice of this site is not the fruit of the chance. The district is under development and an easy population lives it. The proximity of these customers is positive and supports the growth of the Studio largely. So much at a certain time, Studio Henri does not count less than four branches distributed in the immediate area of Quebec City and the suburbs. Studio Henri is recognized and it henceforth occupies a place of foreground in the market of professional photography of the Capital.

But Henri is perfectionist and constantly in search of innovations. For example, its expertise on the wedding photography leads it to imagine that it can largely improve quality of its photographs if it gives to the couples the chance to meet and to speak in an environment about relaxation and softness. Indeed, when it photographs the couples with their marriage, it seems impossible to him to obtain them all the vibrations in love through the stress which this day brings. It thus grafts with its studio, a garden of an approximate surface of 6 000 square feet and, to work there in all quietude with the shelter of the bad weather, it covers it with a permanent transparent fabric on almost totality. This attractive setting of greenery, half-compartment of the inquisitive eyes by curtains of foliage, is used henceforth as background with its studio. The flowers and nature contribute to brighten the photographic sessions: the couples have imperishable memories of them.

With the years, Studio Henri became a reference and a flourishing company whose prestige and reputation overflow our borders. Indeed, Henri Chabot deserved himself during his career several distinctions and recognitions on behalf of the fellow-members and associations photographic accross Canada. Moreover, it took part in many exposures and invited with some resumptions by way of lecturer in Province of Quebec and in France.
